Timothy Austin

Principal Physiotherapist

Tim has been Principal Physiotherapist at Camperdown Physiotherapy since 1994. Tim has extensive experience in the treatment of all musculo-skeletal injuries, with a particular interest in the management of chronic pain. He consults to the Pain Clinic at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in the running of their Intensive Pain Management Program, and lectures in Pain Management at the University of Sydney.

Tim currently sits on the board of the Australian Pain Society, and is the NSW representative on the national committee of the Australian Physiotherapy Association Pain Management Special Interest Group.  Tim graduated with a BAppSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney (1991) and a Master of Science in Medicine (Pain Management) from the University of Sydney (2007).

Tim is Consultant Pain Physiotherapist with the Inner West and Western Suburbs Pain Centres.

In 2018, Tim was one of the first physiotherapists to be awarded the ascription "Australian Physiotherapy Association - Titled Pain Physiotherapist", which is the highest level of achievement for a Pain Management Physiotherapist.

Tim is a keen long distance runner, and has an interest in assisting fellow runners deal with their injuries.

Maria Rocca

Principal Physiotherapist

Maria has been Principal Physiotherapist at Camperdown Physiotherapy since 1994.  Maria has extensive experience in the treatment of all musculo-skeletal injuries, with a particular interest in the "management of lumbo-sacral instability” treatment of neck pain and arm pain, focusing on prevention.

Maria graduated with a BAppSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney (1991).  She has completed a postgraduate certificate in acupuncture from the Australian Physiotherapy Association (2001).

Simon Nicholls

Physiotherapist

Simon joined Camperdown Physiotherapy in 2008 as a Physiotherapist with a background in prosthetics and orthotics. Simon has worked as a physiotherapist in Australia and the U.K. in a variety of settings in both public and private sectors, gaining experience in treating a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Simon graduated with a BAppSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney (2002), and has completed a post-graduate certificate in acupuncture from the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (2006).

Simon is a keen sportsman and has played football at a semi-profession level.  As such he has a special interest in the treatment of sports injuries and orthopaedic rehabilitation.  Simon is vastly experienced in the treatment of knee conditions and injuries.

Jo Munro

Hand Physiotherapist

Jo joined Camperdown Physiotherapy as a Hand Physiotherapist in 2006 with many years’ experience in the assessment and treatment of hand injuries. Jo has worked in a number of specialised hand therapy private practices and in major teaching hospitals, including Therapist-in-Charge of Hand Therapy at Sydney Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital.

Jo has extensive experience in making a broad range of splints to suit varying hand injuries, and she works collaboratively with many of Sydney’s leading hand surgeons.

Jo graduated with a BAppSc in Physiotherapy from the Cumberland College of Health Sciences (1986) and has completed a Masters in Health Science (Education) from the University of Sydney  (1993).

Johnny Kang

BAppSc (Physio)
Titled Pain Physiotherapist

Johnny Kang joined Camperdown Physiotherapy in 2019 as a Titled Pain Physiotherapist.  Johnny has considerable experience in both the Musculoskeletal and Pain areas.

Johnny graduated with a BAppSc in Physiotherapy from Sydney University (2012), and has completed Masters Degrees in both Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (2018) and Pain (2019).

Johnny is currently completing a PhD in the Pain field through the University of Sydney.
